The Grim Reaper's Death Scythe has an antiqued looks which give it the aged looks. The series leads directly to Foster assuming the role of Valkyrie, which triggers a conflict with Grim Reaper beginning in Valkyrie: Jane Foster #4 (Al Ewing, Jason Aaron, CAFU, Jesus Aburtov and Joe Sabino). With its pole extending an enormous 80' tall, this scythe has a razor sharp carbon steel curve blade extending 23 1/2' long. That history involves a number of complex interactions with various Marvel figures, including Jane Foster in the recent War of the Realms storyline. Images of Death crop up in differing cultures across millennia, but the Grim Reaper as a skeletal figure wielding an agrarian scythe especially harks back to the Black Death, when millions. He also has a long history fighting other heroes, giving him a lot of utility as an MCU baddie. That makes him practically a shoo-in for any formal MCU production, with an easy rivalry and a conceptually interesting gimmick that could be easily updated for the franchise. When Simon Williams returns to life and joins the team as Wonder Man, Grim Reaper becomes his natural foil. Black Panther thwarts him, but he remains a regular antagonist for the Avengers going forward. He blames the team for his brother's death, adopting his moniker and signature scythe weapon to seek revenge. She began to whisper 'yes' and 'no' between whimpers and then she laid back down and I watched the darkness leave the room.Grim Reaper first appeared in 1968's Avengers #52 (by Roy Thomas, John Buscema, Vince Colletta, and Sam Rosen), as Simon Williams' brother Eric. She crying, still sitting straight up, looking at something, listening very intently for what seemed like forever. The sickle is the one with a short handle and a hook-like blade. Suddenly, there was a loud, frantic voice shouting, 'NO, NO YOU CANT TAKE ME! I WONT GO!' I opened open my eyes again and the room was much, much darker and my roommate was sitting straight up in her bed, screaming with complete and utter conviction towards the foot of her bed, almost like a child objecting to bed time. Sickles and scythes are both agricultural tools used for harvesting. Assuming it was a nurse in the hall, I tried falling back asleep. I opened my eyes but there was no one in the room, just me and my roommate, who was incoherent the entire time we shared our room. It was a woman's voice but I couldn't make out what she was saying. This sick mother's hospital roommate was a terminally ill woman who hadn't said anything the entire time they were sharing a room, but then came the night before the mother was meant to be discharged. While spending some time in the hospital for an unknown illness, one single mother had an experience that definitely made her fear the Reaper. The Grim Reaper isn’t an evil entity, it’s well neutral in all aspects. The scythe is just a symbol of death, it never is used for harm as all it does is reap souls. Much like Mother Nature or Father Time, Death doesn’t have any real morality, because it’s an abstraction. This person drew a picture of it for me and it looked EXACTLY like what I had seen." Might this family be haunted by a tiny reaper, hell-bent on sucking out their souls? Or has the world been getting the visage of Death wrong this entire time? The Grim Reaper is the personification of death itself. "Days after this happened I told one of my direct blood relatives that I had seen a creature that I could only describe as looking like a grim reaper. The next day the poster assumed they had simply had a nightmare, but they later learned members of their family had similar experiences. I remember seeing and feeling some sort of an energy transfer, like it was sucking on me in some way." " The thing was maybe four feet tall, it wore a black cloak with a pointy hat, and its face was a black void of nothingness. I called on my wings and gave them a shimmy, relishing in the feel of them, whole once more after whatever the dark light of the Grim Reaper's scythe had. Although instead of the gaunt, towering figure we're used to hearing about, this reaper was closer to a character from a Terry Gilliam film. ![]() In 2011 an anonymous poster on a message board claimed they saw what looked like the grim reaper in their bedroom one night.
